Day 1: Arrive Arusha

 

Jambo! Upon arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by a

representative from Overland who will assist with the transfer to your lodge for overnight.  The lodge is set on the outskirts of Arusha on Tanzania's largest coffee plantation. It is the ideal stopover on a Tanzanian safari. Retaining its luxurious colonial atmosphere, the lodge has wonderful views of the towering Mount Meru and is well-placed to access Tanzania's famous safari destinations.

Day 2: Arrive Arusha to Tarangire

 

After breakfast this morning, you will be transferred to the Arusha airport for your short flight to Kuro airstrip. Your guide will be waiting for you on arrival. Embark on a game viewing drive as you are transferred to your camp. 

Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge situated among the giant baobab trees on the

outskirts of the Tarangire National Park. You will find this magic never land at the end of a long road that winds its way through a stunningly beautiful patchwork of grassy savanna and looming baobab trees. Like a burst of tawny fireworks, leaping impala explode from the bush as you turn into the lodge's main entrance. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, return in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park

 

After breakfast go for morning game drives returning back in time for lunch. Upon first glance at the surreal surroundings, you will feel like you've suddenly stepped foot into a fairytale. Following lunch, depart for an afternoon game viewing drive in the park returning later as the sun sets. This is a year-round park with distinct seasons offering different experiences, from dusty, dry and baking with animals clustered around the rapidly reducing river, to the fecund green season full of new-born animals and chattering birds.

Day 4: Tarangire to Ngorongoro

 

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Kuro airstrip for your 0830hrs Air Excel flight to Manyara airstrip arriving at 0930hrs. Depart to the beautiful Lake Manyara, a shallow alkaline lake that shimmers in a cleft in the Great Rift Valley. Arrive and embark on a game viewing drive. 

Tucked below the majesty of the Rift Valley wall, Lake Manyara National Park consists of a thin green band of forest, flanked by the sheer 600 m high red and brown cliffs of the escarpment on one side and by the white-hot shores of an ancient soda lake on the other. Acacia woodland shelters the park’s famous tree climbing lions, lying languidly among the branches in the heat of the day. Lake Manyara safaris offers many unique views including elephant, giraffe, buffalo and wildebeest can be found grazing 

in unexpected clearings or heading towards the water to drink or wash, and the rivers and riverbeds provide scenic vistas for possible animal spotting. Warthog seem to thrive here, growing notably fat and tuskered, and it is a natural playground for baboons and monkeys. Later as the sun sets, you will be transferred to which stands on the edge of the escarpment, overlooking the lake.

Continue to the accommodation at Ngorongoro for overnight. Located in the green and rolling hills south of the Ngorongoro Crater within a 1500-acre Arabica coffee estate.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation

 

After breakfast, descend into the ‘8th Wonder of the World’, a unique biosphere that has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. Enclosed within its towering walls are grasslands, swamps, forests, saltpans, a fresh water lake and a glorious variety of birdlife. Here too are all the members of the 'Big Five’ (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo) as well as a large cast of plains game and one of Africa’s densest populations of predators. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before driving back to

your lodge for relaxation before dinner.

Day 6: Ngorongoro to Serengeti

 

You will be transferred this morning to the Manyara airstrip for your scheduled flight Regional Air ETD0840hrs arriving at the Seronera airstrip at 1030rs. You will enjoy game viewing drives in Central Serengeti. The central Serengeti is home to the beautiful Seronera valley. Several perennial rivers run through this valley enabling many resident animals to thrive year round. The combination of location and resident 

prey attracts the largest populations of predators in Africa. It is this amazing abundance and diversity ofeasily seen large predators that attracts thousands of visitors and hundreds of researches to the Seronera river valley each year.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park

 

After breakfast embark on a morning game drive followed by another gamedrive in the afternoon. There is simply no better place in Africa to observe these largecarnivores and since many are resident, excellent encounters are available year round regardless of the season or where the great migratory herds are located. It is not unusual to see all four large predators (lion, hyena, leopard and cheetah) during the course of a day in the central Serengeti.

Day 8: Serengeti to Arusha

You will have breakfast this morning. After this last taste of Africa, you will be transferred to the airstripfor your flight departing at 1100hrs to Arusha arriving at 1215hrs. Your guide will assist with the transfer to a lodge for lunch. A day room has been reserved for you till 1800hrs. You will later be transferred to the Kilimanjaro airport for your International flight back home.
