Day 1: Arrive Nairobi

Jambo! Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met
by a representative from Overland who will greet you and assist with the transfer to your accommodation in Nairobi for overnight.

Day 2: Nairobi to Naivasha

 

After breakfast this morning, you will be met and driven through the scenically beautiful Great Rift Valley down to the accommodation, nestling on the shores of Lake Naivasha. A two hour drive from Nairobi. Enjoy a delicious lunch on the lawn overlooking Mt Longonot. Afternoon at leisure on the farm, with the option of a late afternoon walk with the accommodation resident naturalist or a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, witnessing the prolific variety of bird-life on the lake and the lake shore. Dinner in the traditional dining room and overnight.

Day 3: Naivasha to Lake Nakuru

 

Early breakfast before departing to Lake Nakuru National Park. Morning game drive around Lake Nakuru, famous for its abundance of flamingos and large variety of water birds. Lake Nakuru is also one of Kenya’s rhino Sanctuaries and large numbers of rhinos are regularly seen, along with good sightings of Leopard. Lunch is served under the Acacia trees overlooking the lake. Returning to the lodge in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Naivasha to Maasai Mara

 

Breakfast served on the lawns of the lodge. After breakfast, there is the opportunity to take a boat ride or an exciting bird walk along the lakeshore with our resident naturalist. Lunch is served at 12.30 at 14.45 you will be transferred to the airstrip to catch the direct safari link flight direct to the Mara. Arriving at the airstrip in Mara at approximately 4:00pm. You will enjoy a short game drive en route to the camp. Pre dinner drinks around the campfire, a candlelit dinner in the dining tent and overnight at the tented camp.

Day 5: Maasai Mara

 

Enjoy a full day game drive. It is Kenya’s greatest wildlife reserve and Africa’s most famous safari destination. It is where over two million wildebeest and zebra migrate annually. It is the home of the BBC wildlife channel’s Big Cat Diary since it holds one of the highest densities of lions in the world. Other game animals include elephants, buffalo, rhino, giraffe, cheetah, crocodile, hippos and small mammals including hyrax, dik dik and mongoose. Optional extras available activities in addition to the three daily game drives, are:- Guided big game walking safaris with one of the camps’ resident professional guides, followed by a full cooked champagne bush breakfast.

Day 6: Maasai Mara

 

Spend a full day game driving in the eco-system of Maasai Mara. Here a variety of biodiversity is to be seen ranging from the big five to smaller mammals.  Varieties of antelopes such as Thomson’s gazelle, impalas and waterbucks, scavengers like hyenas and vultures, and all cats (leopards, lion and cheetah) cannot be missed. Lions are abundant and there are high chances to spot cheetah, but sighting a leopard requires more luck than just being there. Return to the accommodation for dinner and overnight. Optional activities include afternoon walking safaris with sundowners are also available. Exciting flying safaris to Lake Victoria for fishing and bird watching at Mfangano Island Camp can also be arranged. All these at an extra cost.

Day 7: Maasai Mara to Nairobi

 

After a last game drive in the Masai Mara, at 10h00 you will be transferred to the airstrip to catch the 11h00 flight back to Nairobi. Arriving at 12h15, you will be met and transfer you to the airport for your departure flight back home.
